Rural Emergency Hospital : Eureka Springs

Rural Emergency Hospital : Eureka Springs

Students Abby Icenhower and Arthi Ramanathan developed the Rural Emergency Hospital model as a hub for holistic healing and communal growth. By integrating diverse programmatic spaces, the project transforms into a community-centric educational and healing hub.
Comprehensive Healing Clinic and Wellness Spa

Comprehensive Healing Clinic and Wellness Spa

The design envisions a holistic healing spa and addiction treatment center, integrating a dental clinic, therapy spaces, a pharmacy, and spa all under one roof. By merging physical and mental well-being facilities, the aim is to destigmatize addiction treatment, promoting a comprehensive and inclusive approach. This innovative space encourages a supportive environment for individuals seeking help, fostering a sense of community and reducing the barriers associated with seeking addiction treatment.
Vitality Rehabilitation Center

Vitality Rehabilitation Center

Vitality Rehabilitation Center focuses on providing services that create a refreshing, social, exuberant, and personable built environment. A space that promotes patients to spend less time in their rooms and more
time in the community. Through research, interviews with rehab specialists and architects, and our own analysis, we have determined that there is access to food in the general context, but lack of maximized healthy food options and a sense of community surrounding the subject. Having a space that further enhances community engagement would be beneficial for the stroke survivor demographic.

Tammy Walker Cancer Center

Tammy Walker Cancer Center

Through extensive research, students Grace Craig and Sophie Palma synthesized and designed a cancer treatment facility. An individual who is diagnosed with cancer often feels as though their sense of control has been compromised. Restoring that sense of control can result in a positive healing experience. The design of the cancer clinic will allow the patient to modify or change their environment based on their personal needs. This can lead to topophilia, instilling a deep emotional connection between the patient and the clinic.
Integrated Cancer Center of Salina

Integrated Cancer Center of Salina

The Integrated Cancer Center of Salina is an outpatient oncology center focused on providing a holistic approach
to cancer treatment. The program features many spaces that are additive to the typical cancer therapy process. Executing a successful project with such a heavily programmed space took extensive research into the process of cancer treatment before making any design choices. Also essential to creating a building that functioned well was establishing a solid set of principles that we wanted the building to respond to.
Prairie Sports & Outpatient Surgical Center

Prairie Sports & Outpatient Surgical Center

The Prairie Sports & Outpatient Surgical Center is centered around the belief that healthcare facilities are best delivered in the form of a holistic and empowering experience that provides both the patient and the staff with an efficient style of care that allows for the healing process to be completed. Together, Landon Dinkel and Andrew Pottinger analyzed the study of daylight, holistic design, and the open plan.
